This page features the ambulance we use to transport patients.  Each ambulance has a short description and links to a "virtual tour" of each.  In March of 2004 DVR started a rotation plan.  In the past when a new truck was received, that was the primary truck and it was used and used and used.  It would accumulate a lot of mileage and other trucks would not be used.  Trucks became older and had higher mileage and would not be utilized efficiently.  In March of 2004 we purchased the current A3.  Prior to that, we utilized 4 trucks but felt that 4 were not needed and decided to trade in 2 older trucks for the brand new one.  We decided to implement a rotation schedule so each truck is utilized equally or close to equal!!  The trucks now rotate (rotated each Monday morning) so that each truck spends a week as the primary truck, the next Monday morning goes to the Dover station (what I call on vacation!!), then back down to the Wilmington station for its 3rd week as the the secondary truck, and then rotates back to the primary and the cycle begins again.  So far, this has been a very successful plan.  Each ambulance is equally equipped and standardized so this is an easy task and works quite successfully!
