2007- DVR received a grant award totaling $20,430 from the 2006 FIREACT grant process, administered by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). This grant awarded DVR with the following items: 15 Sets of turnout gear, 12 Protective helmets, 30 pairs Extrication gloves, 30 pairs of EMS boots, 30 LED headlamps, 30 ANSI-compliant High-visibility vests and 30 gear bags. The acquisition of this equipment and a prior award of 15 sets of turnout gear will allow us to outfit most providers with their personal set of protective gear.
2005- DVR received a grant award totaling $5981.15 from the Vermont Department of Homeland Security with funds coming from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This grant awarded DVR with the following items: 2-Ferno 59T Stair chairs and a battery conditioner/analyzer. The Ferno stair-chairs are the newest available, and feature tracks that allow the removal of a patient down the stairs without actually carrying the patient. The battery conditioner/analyzer allows us the ability to rapidly charge portable radio batteries as well as maximize their life by using the conditioning process.
2004- DVR received a grant award totaling $3108.36 from the Vermont Department of Homeland Security with funds coming from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This grant awarded DVR with the following items: Hazardous Material guides for each ambulance, binoculars for each ambulance, set of command vests for each ambulance, a scoop stretcher, 6 new backboards and 2 new portable radios.
2003- DVR received 2 grant awards totaling $33,695 from the Vermont Department of Homeland Security with funds coming from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This grant awarded DVR with the following items: 4 portable radios, 2 suction units, 1 stair chair, 3 Blood Pressure monitors, 15 sets of turnout gear, 1 master triage kit, Multi-patient oxygen manifolds for each ambulance and Mobile radios for each ambulance. The acquisition of the mobile radios now allow DVR to communicate with all services we work with: Fire, EMS, Local and State Police and Mt. Snow Ski Area.
