Deerfield Valley Rescue has been fortunate enough to be the recipient of $70,684.51 in grant awards since 2003.  These grants have allowed us to acquire equipment necessary in our role as an ambulance service.  We will outline the equipment and awards year by year.

2008-  DVR has just received an award from VCOMM (Vermont Communications) for the purchase of 15 new Motorola PR400 portable Radios.  The acquisition of these radios will allow all of Vermont's Interoperable Communications frequencies to be programmed into the portables.

2007-  DVR received a grant award totaling $20,430 from the 2006 FIREACT grant process, administered by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency).  This grant awarded DVR with the following items:  15 Sets of turnout gear, 12 Protective helmets, 30 pairs Extrication gloves, 30 pairs of EMS boots, 30 LED headlamps, 30 ANSI-compliant High-visibility vests and 30 gear bags.  The acquisition of this equipment and a prior award of 15 sets of turnout gear will allow us to outfit most providers with their personal set of protective gear.

2005-  DVR received a grant award totaling $5981.15 from the Vermont Department of Homeland Security with funds coming from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  This grant awarded DVR with the following items:  2-Ferno 59T Stair chairs and a battery conditioner/analyzer.  The Ferno stair-chairs are the newest available, and feature tracks that allow the removal of a patient down the stairs without actually carrying the patient.  The battery conditioner/analyzer allows us the ability to rapidly charge portable radio batteries as well as maximize their life by using the conditioning process.
